Hi, I’m Britt… artist, maker, corporate girlie, and castle-dwelling craft queen.

I grew up dreaming of being a famous fashion designer, sketching gowns and watching the entertainment industry from the sidelines as I lived just outside of Hollywood. However, life didn’t hand me a runway… it handed me a job at a health insurance company right out of high school. I used that job to pay my way through college and earned my Bachelor’s in Fashion Design from The Art Institute of California – Hollywood in 2016.

After graduation, I worked with several designers, pouring everything I had into the fashion world… until it quite literally broke me. One job pushed me to the point of exhaustion and hospitalization, and after that, I walked away. I put down the sketchbooks and picked up the stability of a full-time career in insurance, where I now work in corporate education and training, and genuinely LOVE what I do.

But the artist in me never disappeared.

After years of healing, therapy, and rebuilding, I found my way back to making… not just fashion, but everything. Crochet, sewing, punch needling, embroidery, painting, paper crafting, prop making… if it can be stitched, painted, built, or bedazzled, I’m probably already elbows-deep in it.

Britt’s Castle is the next chapter: a home for my ever-expanding creative practice and my dream of one day owning a custom maker’s studio. I was lucky enough to intern at a prop house once… a magical place where artists made everything from costumes to sets to specialty props… and I’ve never forgotten the joy of using every creative skill you have in one project.

Now, I’m building a space where all my artistic selves can coexist: fashion designer, fiber artist, DIY queen, and lifelong learner. Whether I’m crafting for fun, designing something custom, or sharing my process online, Britt’s Castle is where I get to make art for the pure joy of making.

And yes… I still keep my health insurance job. A modern Queen needs a paycheck!
